|The Munich Jewellery Week is the biggest jewellery event in the world; I had to see it with my own eyes. The big galleries were presented at the Handwerksmesse, where I bumped into this smart smuggler wear. Amber smuggling in the Russian Baltic Sea exclave was widespread in the 90s, and had a real Mafia. The smugglers transported sought-after amber (which can be 40 million years old) in their vehicles along the Amber Road from Kaliningrad, where 90% of all amber is found.
