|Old museum portraits on flattened cans. The idea came from a frustration of the extreme disparities of class in South America. The artist’s favourite portrait is the one left: Rosalba Peale Underwood (1799-1874) was the eldest daughter of Rembrandt Peale, she is portrayed here in her early twenties. Rembrandt tutored his daughter in art and raised her to be an independent and strong minded woman.
