|I have to go to Düsseldorf to experience this 25 meter high installation, encompassing 2,500 m2 of steel netting. The mesh construction weighs 3 tons, and the spheres 300 kilos, still it seems lightweight. For many years, the artist has studied the methods by which various species of spider construct their webs. This web architecture is just an element of the artist’s  large-scale project Air-Port-City, a floating city of the future, a socialist and utopian dream, and as a response to the growing uninhabitability of the earth, to worldwide population growth, and to dramatic ecological crises. Art Tomás Saraceno Exhibition Kunst Sammlung Nordrhein Westfalen untill autumn 2014
