Greenhouse roof

Greenhouse roof

tato|Since we’re considering building a house in Amsterdam, I’m scanning today’s architecture, bumping into different ideas, like this sunroom house in Japan. Since the wheather can be very cold in the mountains, greenhouses are placed on the roof and covered by a double layer of translucent polycarbonate. The roof collects heat in the winter and the three transparent huts infuse the house with a soft light. The openings are positioned to augment the circulation of air during summer and create a light breeze that cools down the entire house. Architecture Tato Architects, Japan
