Glass Farm

Glass Farm

glassfarm|Great response to kitsch architecture in The Netherlands! This building looks like a farm, but the exterior is printed glass with a collage of local farms. The villagers engaged vividly in the process resulting in heated debates, so The Glass Farm became the seventh proposal for the center of the town. The building is 1.6 times larger than a real farm, symbolizing the village growing into a town. The 1600 m2 contains shops, restaurants, offices and a wellness centre. Rubbed out areas from the print (bottom right) function as windows. Location Schijndel, The Netherlands Print AGC Architecture MVRDV
