The pudding is traditionally made of 13 ingredients (12 apostles and Christ) and we, the family, have to stir the mixture from east to west. Just surfed the web for Victorian silver Christmas charms that should be cooked inside the pudding: the wishbone to grant a wish, the thimble for thrift, and discovered this antique, pre-war (1920’s) Hindu Swastika charm that symbolized happiness (!).
